Discord bot setup

Before you begin

• Access to the Discord server where signals are posted.
• Permission to add a bot — usually Manage Server. Without it, ask the server owner.
• A free source slot on your PipSync plan.

Authorize the bot

   Start from PipSync

   Channels → Add Discord channel, then authorize with Discord.

   Pick the server

   Select the server that carries the signals and confirm.

   Grant read access

   The bot asks for View Channel and Read Message History. It never needs Send Messages.

   Choose the channels

   Back in PipSync under Channels, tick the specific channels to read. Only messages from selected channels are parsed.

Channel permissions

Server-wide permissions are not enough if the signal channel has its own overrides. Check the channel itself:

• Channel → Edit Channel → Permissions → the PipSync role must have View Channel.
• It also needs Read Message History, otherwise it only sees messages posted after it joined.
• Private channels need the role added explicitly — server-level access does not inherit.

Parsing and filters

Discord messages go through the same parser as Telegram, including embeds. Signals posted as an image only cannot be read — ask the provider for a text version, or use a channel that has one.

Busy servers mix chatter into the signal channel. Keyword filters and the confidence threshold keep it clean — see Filters and thresholds.
