cTrader connects over OAuth: you sign in at cTrader and PipSync never sees your cTrader password.
Steps
- Trading Accounts → Add account. In the Add Trading Account dialog set Broker Type to cTrader and click Connect with cTrader. This opens the Connect cTrader Account page.
- The page has an environment switch (Demo / Testnet or Live; it starts on Demo / Testnet). It does not change which accounts are listed: the next page shows every trading account of your cTrader ID, demo and live, each with its own Demo or Live badge.
- Click Connect with cTrader. You are sent to id.ctrader.com. Sign in with your cTrader ID — not the broker portal login — and approve the trading scope on cTrader's own screen.
- Back in PipSync the page Select Accounts to Import lists every trading account of that cTrader ID with its number, a Demo or Live badge, the broker and the balance. One cTrader ID often holds several: click the ones you want and confirm the Demo/Live badge and the currency match what you meant.
- Click Import N Account(s). Nothing is saved until you do. The imported accounts then appear under Trading Accounts.
Your plan's account limit applies: the picker pre-selects only as many accounts as your plan has room for, and if there is no room the import shows your upgrade options instead (Settings → Billing shows your plan).
You can revoke PipSync's access from your cTrader account settings at any time. After that PipSync can no longer trade the account; connect it again to use it.
Reconnecting
There is no re-authorise button on the account page. To reconnect — for example if the account shows "Reconnect required" in the picker, or after you revoked access — run Add account → cTrader → Connect with cTrader again and import the account again. An account that is already added is not duplicated and does not take another slot.
Differences from MetaTrader
| Topic | cTrader |
|---|---|
| Position model | Set by your broker and account type (hedging or netting); PipSync does not change it. On a netting account a second trade in the same symbol adds to the existing position instead of opening a parallel one. |
| Volume | Expressed in units; PipSync converts from lots using the symbol spec. |
| Partial closes | Supported natively. |
| Symbol names | PipSync matches the symbol in the signal against the account's own symbol list. A name your broker does not carry is refused — see “Unknown symbol” — what to change. |
If it will not connect
- "Connection Failed" page — read the message and click Try Again. "Security check failed" usually means the tab was open too long or you used the Back button.
- "No Accounts Found" — you signed in, but PipSync found no trading accounts under that cTrader ID. Click Try Again and sign in with the cTrader ID that actually holds your trading accounts.
- The account is not listed — it belongs to a different cTrader ID. Run the connection again and sign in with that ID.
- "Reconnect required" / "Enable this account at cTrader before importing" — the account is disabled at cTrader. Enable it there, then connect again.
- Orders rejected — the instrument is not tradable on that account type. Check it in the cTrader platform first.
