The alert fires but nothing happens in PipSync

Work out which side of the wire the problem is on, in one step.

Step one: which side?

Open Settings → Advanced → TradingView Alerts and look at Recent alerts (the last 20 alerts received on your URL; Refresh reloads the list).

  • The call is listed → it reached PipSync. The status and the error on the entry say what happened to it. See below.
  • The list is empty → TradingView never reached us, or the URL was not accepted. The problem is the alert or the URL.

That single check saves most of the guesswork.

When the list is empty

  1. TradingView's own alert log, in its Alerts panel. A delivery error there means the request never left TradingView.
  2. Re-copy the webhook URL. PipSync shows the full URL only once, when you generate it. Regenerate and Revoke invalidate the old URL immediately, and a call to an old or mistyped URL is rejected without being listed. Paste the current URL under Notifications → Webhook URL in the alert.
  3. Validate the JSON. A missing comma breaks the whole payload.
  4. Check the TradingView plan. Webhooks need a paid TradingView subscription.
TradingView's trigger option matters. Once Per Bar Close fires only when the bar closes, not when your condition first becomes true. A webhook that seems delayed by minutes can be this setting rather than a fault.

When the call is listed

  • failed with "Missing or invalid stop loss", "Missing take profit levels" or a similar message → the alert is missing one of the five required fields, or has 0 in it. Fix the alert message: TradingView payload reference.
  • failed with "Workspace permission denied" → your role in the workspace cannot create signals. Ask the workspace owner.
  • duplicate skipped → a signal with the same instrument, direction, entry and stop-loss arrived within the last five minutes, so PipSync did not create a second one.
  • signal created → the alert worked. The signal is on the Signals page. Unless you have switched on TradingView auto-trading, PipSync saves the signal and places no order from it, so open the signal on the Signals page to review it. With auto-trading on, an alert that does not pass every check is also kept as a signal for your approval — see Auto-trading TradingView alerts.
