Risk management
The limits that decide what a signal is allowed to do to your account, and sensible values to start from.
The core limits
Risk per trade and the lot limits are set per channel under Channels → your channel → Settings → Auto-trade → Position Sizing. Max Open Positions is under Settings → Trading.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Risk per trade (%) | Share of your balance a single signal may risk between current price and stop (Risk-Based sizing, 0.1 to 10). |
| Min Lots / Max Lots | Floor and ceiling on the calculated size. A wide stop can push the size below Min Lots, and then the order goes out at Min Lots and risks more than your percentage. |
| Max Open Positions | Caps simultaneous exposure. New signals are refused for an account that is at the cap. |
How a signal becomes a lot size
Risk per trade plus stop distance determines the size — the full calculation, including the contract-spec traps, is in Position sizing.
What PipSync does not have
PipSync has no total drawdown limit, no maximum positions per symbol and no per-account kill switch you can press. The optional Max Daily Loss and Max Trades/Day (Settings → Trading or Trading Hub → Risk Settings, off by default) refuse new copied trades once reached, but they never close open positions. Keep watching the firm's own rules at your broker, and see Drawdown protection for how the daily limits work and how to stay inside a limit with sizing.
Stopping trading
There is no kill switch you can press yourself, but you can stop new orders at once: press Disable auto-trading on a channel (Channels → Settings tab → Auto-trade), set the account link to Paused, or switch the account to Disabled under Trading Accounts. None of these closes open positions — close those yourself under Trading Accounts → your account → Open Positions.
