cTrader connects over OAuth, so no password is stored anywhere.
Steps
- Trading Accounts → Add Account → cTrader.
- Sign in with your cTrader ID — not the broker portal login.
- Approve the trading scope on cTrader's own screen.
- Pick the trading account. One cTrader ID often holds several; confirm the currency matches the one you meant.
You can revoke PipSync's access from your cTrader account settings at any time, and execution stops immediately.
Differences from MetaTrader
| Topic | cTrader |
|---|---|
| Position model | Netting per symbol by default — a second buy adds to the existing position instead of opening a parallel one. |
| Volume | Expressed in units; PipSync converts from lots using the symbol spec. |
| Partial closes | Supported natively, which makes multi-target signals cleaner than on MT5. |
| Symbol names | Usually plain (XAUUSD, US500) with fewer broker suffixes. |
If it will not connect
- Authorisation expired — re-run the OAuth flow from the account detail page.
- The account is not listed — it belongs to a different cTrader ID, or the broker has not enabled API access on it.
- Orders rejected — the instrument is not tradable on that account type. Check it in the cTrader platform first.
