TradingView webhook setup

Fire trades straight from TradingView alerts and strategies using the PipSync webhook endpoint.

Before you begin

  • A connected broker account in PipSync.
  • A paid TradingView plan — webhooks are not available on the free tier.
  • A free source slot on your PipSync plan.

Get your webhook URL

    Open the alerts surface

    Settings → Advanced → TradingView Alerts, then click Generate webhook URL.

    Copy the generated URL

    It contains a secret token unique to this source:

https://pipsync.io/api/tradingview/webhook/YOUR_SECRET_TOKEN
Anyone holding this URL can send signals to your account. Do not paste it into shared Pine scripts, screenshots or support threads. If it leaks, hit Regenerate under Settings → Advanced → TradingView Alerts — the old URL stops working immediately.

Create the alert in TradingView

    Open the Alerts panel

    The clock icon in the right toolbar, or Alt+A.

    Set your condition

    A strategy order, an indicator crossing, a price level — anything TradingView can alert on.

    Put JSON in the Message field

    This is the payload PipSync receives. Use the template below.

  4. 4

    Paste the webhook URL

    Under Notifications → Webhook URL.

  5. 5

    Create the alert

    TradingView now POSTs your JSON to PipSync every time the alert fires.

Payload reference

FieldRequiredMeaning
actionyes"buy", "sell" or "close". "close" closes the open position on that symbol.
symbolyesThe instrument name as your broker spells it — XAUUSD, US30, EURUSD.
pricenoEntry price. 0 means execute at market.
slnoStop-loss price. 0 omits it — subject to the completeness gate.

lotsnoFixed size for this alert. Omit to let your risk rules size the trade.
commentnoFree text stored with the trade.
Symbol names differ per broker: GOLD, XAUUSD and XAUUSD.m are the same market at three brokers. Use the name from your own symbol list, or map it in the channel settings.

Test before you trust it

  1. Fire the alert once in TradingView, or POST the JSON to your webhook URL with curl.
  2. Open Settings → Advanced → TradingView Alerts → Recent alerts. Every inbound call is listed with instrument, direction and outcome, including the exact parser error. An empty list means TradingView never reached PipSync.
  3. Point the source at a demo account and let a real alert fire once.
  4. Only then link it to a live account.
