Your first week — a checklist

The order to do things in so a configuration mistake costs you nothing.

Work down this list. Each step is cheap to undo; skipping ahead is not.

Day 1

  • Connect a demo broker account: Trading Accounts → Add account, with your broker's demo login. Demo accounts count against your plan's account limit.
  • Accept the risk disclosure when PipSync asks for it — for example when you connect the broker account, switch auto-trading on, link an account to a channel or place an order by hand; a banner on the dashboard reminds you until you accept. Nothing is traded before that — demo accounts included. Accepting only records your confirmation; it does not place or release any order.
  • Connect one signal source: Channels → Add channel. One. Attribution is impossible with three.
  • Link the demo account to the channel and leave auto-trade off (it is off by default). Open the channel's Settings tab, find Trade Gateway Accounts in the Auto-trade panel and click the account to connect it. Every signal then waits for your confirmation. A signal can only be confirmed for a limited time after the message (the card shows until when), so look at the Signals page soon after one arrives; an older market signal can no longer be executed.
  • In the same panel open Position Sizing, set Risk per trade (%) (the setting accepts 0.1% to 10%; choose a value you are comfortable losing on every trade) and look at Min Lots and Max Lots.
  • Watch the first few signals arrive. Channels → Messages lists every raw message; the Signals page (sidebar: Signals → Signals) lists the signals PipSync created from them. Check what the parser extracted, then open a signal and use Confirm & execute → Check price & execute on a few of them.

Day 2–3

  • Turn auto-trade on if the parses look right: Enable auto-trading in the same Auto-trade panel. It needs at least one linked account, and auto-trading is part of the paid plans.
  • Check that the instruments your provider trades exist at your broker under the name PipSync sends (gold is XAUUSD at one broker and XAUUSD+ at another). PipSync has no symbol-mapping setting; if an order is refused because of the symbol, message us in the support chat with the symbol and your broker. Background: Symbol names and broker suffixes.
  • Set Max Open Positions under Settings → Trading. If you want a stop for the day, switch on Max Daily Loss there too (off by default): once an account is down that much since 00:00 UTC, new copied trades on it are refused for the rest of the day. See Daily loss and trades-per-day limits.

Day 4–7

  • Compare the trades PipSync opened with what the provider posted (Trading Hub → Positions). Most of the time they match signal for signal — a signal with several take-profits opens one position per target. A signal can also be refused by a risk guard (for example when a position in the same instrument and direction is already open, or when Max Open Positions is reached); the Execution Log shows the reason.
  • Open Trading Hub → Execution Log and click any signal that did not trade: the reason is shown there. Then look at Analytics → Source Analytics — win rate, R:R and equity curve for this provider so far.

Only then

  • Connect the live account once the demo trades match what you expected.
  • Choose a Risk per trade (%) for it that you are comfortable losing on every trade. The setting accepts 0.1% to 10%.
Thirty trades is not a sample. Providers regularly look excellent for a month and give it all back in the next.
