Signal quality and provider analytics
Measure a provider before you fund it: hit rate, expectancy, drawdown contribution and parse reliability.
Where to look
- Signal Quality — per-channel scoring, parse success rate and rejection reasons.
- Source Analytics — realised performance grouped by the channel that produced it.
- Performance — the whole account, all sources combined.
What the numbers mean
| Metric | Read it as |
|---|---|
| Hit rate | Share of closed trades that ended positive. Meaningless without the average win/loss beside it. |
| Expectancy | Average result per trade. Negative expectancy with a 70% hit rate is common and fatal. |
| Max drawdown | The worst peak-to-trough this source put your account through. |
| Parse rate | Share of messages that produced a usable signal. A low rate means format problems, not bad trading. |
| Rejected | Signals blocked by the completeness gate, with the reason. |
Evaluating a new provider
- 1
Run it in test mode for a week
No orders, full parse logs. You learn the format problems for free.
- 2
Then demo for a month
Real sizing, real slippage, no money at risk.
- 3
Compare expectancy, not hit rate
Ask whether the average win covers the average loss.
- 4
Go live small
Cut risk per trade to a quarter of your normal size for the first weeks.
Thirty trades is not a sample. Providers regularly show a great first month and give it all back in the second.
